HOME SWEET HOME
I've told y'all about how Chad and I bought a house together in September, and also about its brasstastic accessories. We LOVE this house. It sits on top of a ridge and the whole neighborhood has a great layout with big lots and classic homes. It is sort of out in the country, but still fits my requirement (seriously) of living within 20 minutes of a Target. There's also a small 9-hole golf course here too, and we love to play golf when we can. The house itself is in perfect condition, especially given it is 14 years old, thanks to the couple who lived there before. The only revamps we have/want to do are basic DIY/cosmetic projects, which we both think are kind of fun!I figure it would be good to show you what the place looked like when we moved in, mostly so that I can feel better about my limited DIY skills as our little projects come along (links to those above). I will also tell you what we have planned for each space so you'll know which projects to watch out for! :)

I think the only thing we may change out here is to update the garage doors (I don't like doors with windows in them), and we may add some stone accents as time and moolah allows. The house was built in 1998 but I think they did a great job of keeping it from being too trendy to age gracefully!
Dining Room
In here, Chad the Wonderful has already taken down that border, and the chandelier has been given a new life as a black-iron-spray-painted miracle that now sits in the breakfast room. We want to take out that chair rail, add a tall dark wood wainscoting, and paint above it. We also hope to make the crown molding a bit thicker up top. This room is the least used in the house, naturally, so it's pretty far down on the priority list.
Kitchen
Breakfast Room
The kitchen and breakfast are all one space, and they are getting a complete overhaul. New light fixtures, flooring, wall paint, appliances, backsplash, cabinets will be painted, new hardware, and new countertops. All in good time. (when I hit the lottery)
Entry
This space has already gotten a new light fixture, and needs paint and accessories. We are hopefully also going to change out those side panels on either side of the front door - they date the house.

Thankfully, as of this writing, this room is almost completely revamped (post to come soon). We (mostly Chad the Great) took down that heinous wallpaper, changed the light fixture, painted the walls and ceiling, got a new shower head, stained the cabinets, and replaced the hardware. The only thing left to do is change out the faucet, and I'd like to build a frame around the contractor-type mirror.
The house has 3 bedrooms that were all in great shape when we moved in (no wallpaper, clean carpets, etc.). They are mostly just blank canvases waiting for us to make them fit our styles.
So that's our place! I hope you will come back to see the progress on it as we tackle all the little projects!
